ANSWER

5 Animals.
Explanation

  1. If the English meaning of every, as in every elephant means the collective group of 5 saw 2 monkeys (not 12 if they each saw a different 2 monkeys), then the same would apply to every monkey holds 1 parrot. It does not say each monkey holds a parrot. The collective group of 2 monkeys holds a total of 1 parrot. The answer would be 1 rabbit, 2 monkeys and 1 parrot.

  2. There is no indication that the elephants are not going to the river as well. Answer is 4, 5 or 11. Not enough info to confirm

  5. Ok so the answer on google says 5 but.....
The answer I was given is none: the question asked how many are GOING to the river? The scenario said the rabbit SAW... none are GOING, they already went.

  6. To and towards are have different meanings, the question is how many are going towards the river not to the river, so no rabbit going towards the river, no elephants going towards the river, just 2 monkeys holding 2 parrots going TOWARDS the river. Answer is 4

  8. I still say the answer is 3. Parrots are classed as birds in Science. They have their own categories called aves. They dont give birth, dont feed their young with a glands, have feathers, can fly and are toothless. In science there are 5 categories: mammals, birds, fish, reptiles, amphibians. So if they were (some will argue it is) the category of "Birds" would be eliminated. And finally there are actually 5 species of birds that are Confirmed as mammals.

  9. Except if you are going to the river, you would also be going towards the rivers. You could be going toward the river without actually going to the river. However you can’t be going to the river without also going toward it.

Also, birds are animals. Not all animals are mammals, but all mammals are animals.

  10. But the birds are not going, they are being taken/carried so they do not count
